A few of my favorite things...
The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing."

I love stories. They help tell us who we are, where we have been, and what we hope to become. They connect us to others and teach us the most important things in life. So, just in case we have things in common, my name is Lucas, and this is my story.
I grew up in Roan Mountain, a small mountain town in East Tennessee. I graduated as a part of a class of 52 students from Cloudland High, and thanks to the stories of my mother, the motivation from my dad, and a little bit of faith from my teachers and counselor, I was chosen as a Roan Scholar at ETSU.
I spent four years at ETSU, where I changed my major four times, before eventually settling on a double major in International Affairs and Communication Studies. Honestly, I only double-majored because I couldn't make up my mind what I wanted to do! (To be fair, I still don't know what I want to do). I had the opportunity to travel abroad, spending roughly 4 weeks in China, worked myself sick (literally!) as a part of the Student Government Association, and met some of the best friends a guy could ask for in my time there.
Eventually, after graduating and a few years working and learning how to adult, I made my way to this job. I knew I wanted to help give back to the world around me, and this job allowed me to help students in a way that many of the most important people in my life had helped me. I try every day to help students see their own potential, and hopefully I can make a difference to a few of them along the way!
In my spare time, I play video games, board games, and RPGs with my friends (My last character was a giant robot named Iron Fist, and yes I know that is cool as it gets!). Despite being a massive introvert, I love to do motivational speaking every chance I can (as long as I can retreat to a good book later on!). I've been a Twitch streamer, a YouTuber, and a podcast guy off and on for years, though nowadays I do it just for fun.
If I can give a small set of advice, I'd tell you these things:
